How to Patch Meissa Moon on Citra?
- Download the Meissa Moon patch in Google Drive.
- Extract the downloaded folder.
- In Citra, right-click Pokemon Moon and select “Open Mods Location.”

- Move the downloaded patch files (romfs and code.bin) to the mod folder.

(should look like this)
If Kukui says this in the intro cutscene (or the wild Pokemon are different if you’re using the save file) the patching was successful. Enjoy!
How to use the Save Files?
The Generation 7 games are notorious for their copious amount of cutscenes which make replaying the game nearly impossible in a short period of time. Save files in Hau Oli City have been provided, bypassing all the early cutscenes.
- Pick a starter and your choice of gender(male or female) from these save files.

- Download them in addition to PkHeX
- Change PkHeX to PkHaX (https://projectpokemon.org/home/tutorials/save-editing/using-pkhex/how-to-use-pkhax-mode-with-pkhex-r78/)
- Drag the downloaded save file of your choice onto PkHex.
- The downloaded save file comes with a predetermined name and skin color (I am not making 24 save files). To change these:
Click Trainer Info

- Change the Trainer Name here.

Ensure your starter’s OT matches your trainer name, or it will not obey you.
- Change the Tab to “Misc”. Here you may alter your skin color.

- Save and Export the new Save File.
- Click Open Save Data Location on your Citra directory. If this does not appear, play a bit of the game until you can do an in-game save.

- Now drag the save file you just made into this Save Data Location. Delete the old save file called “main” and rename the save file you just made to “main”. Happy playing!
Custom Shinies
With version 2.0.7 comes customized shiny Pokemon models! These are custom textures meant to overlap the original shiny textures for select Pokemon chosen by the developers and players in the Hall of Fame!
- In Citra’s main menu, right-click your Pokemon Moon ROM and click “Open Custom Texture Location”

- Extract the contents of custom-shinies.zip into the now open folder.
- In “Configuration” (Emulation/Configure…), Click the Graphics tab and check “Use Custom Textures” in the Utility section.

- In the “Renderer” section, ensure your texture filter is set to “None” if your Graphics API is Vulkan.
